Start11 cannot show right-click menu when set taskbar at top

Hi,

If the taskbar is set to top alignment, the right mouse button cannot be enabled.
As the video shows: https://we.tl/t-4gxZCNxC71

Enabling the enhancement can solve the problem of the right-click menu not being displayed,
However, the position of the right-click menu is still at the bottom, not at the top.

I already tried purge and reinstall Start11, the problem persists.

May I ask how to fix this issue, thanks.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system.

  1. Windows full version and OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe.
  2. Start11 full version number.

Thank you

I need to know first if the user is on Start11v1.55 if it is, please refer here: https://forums.stardock.com/530159. This has been reported before and Dev has answered it.

I am referring to the context menu appearing at the bottom of the screen with the enhanced taskbar at the top and the alignment to the left.

I am having the same issue where when I have the taskbar on the top of the screen and centered (windows start icon, too), no right-click context menus appear when you click on an icon, for example, excel. When the taskbar is reverted to the bottom of the screen, all works as it should. This started happening after updating to Start 11 2.08, and I'm using Windows 11 Pro Ver 23H2 OS Build 22631.4037

You need to update to Start11v2 ver. 2.1 first, and then you have to use the Enhanced taskbar for it to work when the taskbar is on the top.

I have updated to the latest version, but the problem still exists.

We need full version and OS build number. Something like this:

On your issue I tested on my Windows 11 v 23H2 (OS Build 22631.4169), it is working with enhance taskbar turn on. Refer my short video below.

Hello,

I have reproduced ActionTier's issue on the secondary monitor using top aligned taskbar there.  Under this configuration, I found that even when "Let Start11 enhance the taskbar" is set to On, right clicking doesn't produce anything at all.  It also only seems to be an issue with Windows 11.  I've now logged the finding for this internally.

Internal Ref: ODNT-8769

However, this is quite different than what lanadel20 is encountering, with the main monitor's right-click context menu appearing in the wrong place.

lanadel20, can you please verify after a complete removal of your software before reinstalling and trying again?  I'd like to check the possibility that some lingering file from an old update might be causing some issue.

To do so, please follow the link below for exact instructions for a complete purge/removal of your software.  Make sure to reboot after the removal, and again after the re-installation, exactly as directed:

https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1349320730/Start+Menu+purging+and+re-installing

Please report back if the issue remains or not after doing so.
