Couple issues with WindowsBlinds 11

Hello,

Couple issues I've been having. One was present in Windows 10 version as well and one is new now that I've updated to Windows 11.

First one is that, whenever I open Firefox, it takes me opening two instances of the application for the WindowsBlinds XP theme to apply to the title bar/window. Once I open the second instance, everything works fine until I close it again and need to open a new window of Firefox. It didn't used to do this, it started maybe 6 months ago and has persisted into my Windows 11 update. Any idea on what to do there?

Second issue is the task manager in Windows 11. With the eXPerience skin applied, it looks really funky and wrong at the top with the search bar and the title bar. Any way to fix this?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues.

  1. I usually turn off Windowblinds for Browsers. But, today I tested firefox on Windows 11 and I can not seem to reproduce your issue. Please post a video on this issue so we can understand it better.
  2. Look like you on a theme where it is using small/shorter titlebar, which will cause the search box to appear beyond the titlebar. What you can do is to use a skin that have bigger/normal size titlebar skin.

Also moving forward on your first issue, need more information.

  1. Windows full version and OS Build number. Please use Winver.exe.
  2. Windowblinds 11 version number.
  3. Firefox version number.
  4. Post a video on this issue to any video sharing page such as Youtube, make it public and post its link here.

Thank you.

Hi, struggling to take a video but here's what Firefox looks like when opening up a fresh instance of FireFox:

Here's what it looks like after opening up a brand new window right after that, where it is skinned properly:

All subsequent windows I open in FireFox are skinned properly until I close out of all FireFox instances (and verify that they are terminated in task manager). Then the issue will pop up again.

Here is the winver:

WindowsBlinds11, most recent version. Firefox version 129.0.2.

There is one web browser that skins very well and easily with Windowblinds, and it is called "Pale Moon", a fork or mod of Firefox. Problem is, Pale Moon is slow compared to Firefox, especially when it comes to videos. So you may not want to use it. But it is a possible option or alternative.

Yes, as mentioned Browsers don't work very well/consistently with Windowblinds. I can't not reproduce your issue in my system. Try looking if you have same issue if you running Firefox without any extension/add-on. Sometimes extension/add-on does change Browser behavior and causing conflict.

I had the same issue when I was running WindowBlinds. I'm not really sure how the staff never seems to have any of the issues everyone else has.

I believe the Dev already knew about this issue for a long time. And this is due to Browser introduce their own Skin/theme engine which can not work with Windowblinds. Chromium base browser stop working altogether with Windowblinds since they change something in it. Firefox, been off and on, for a long time also. Some browsers, such as Pale Moon, that decide to use basic Windows standard GUI should still work with Windowblinds.
