After downloading and installing object dock...there is NO icon in the systray, therefore, I can't get to the menu to add themes. Why is the icon missing????

Are you referring to the fact that ObjectDock hides the taskbar?

DesktopX allows a virtual tray as an object. If the tray is of such high importance, just search "tray" in the Objects section.

Or, DesktopX allows the creation of a Start menu launcher object. This could be an alternative way to launch Stardock programs.

Last, why not just right-click the desktop? The Display Properties dialig is integrated with WinStyles aka Theme Manager and WindowBlinds.

No. According to the instruction for object bar, after installation there should be an icon in the systray. This icon allows a right click and a menu to add themes, etc. I do not have that icon.

i've never seen an icon in the system tray. and i don't see any options in the program to have one. but you can get the Objectdock Preferences and Setup to come up by simply running the program over itself. ie, run c:\objectdock.exe to start the program, then run the same exe again and the properties window pops up. then you can do any tweaking in there. i always run the properties set up this way.

you don't need desktop x or objectbar or anything extra to use it properly

and i just realized we're talking about two different things. stephen, do you mean objectBAR or object DOCK? BAR does indeed, by default, have an icon in the system tray. if your tray has been hidden by the program, right click on the bar it has open and choose 'properties...' and it'll bring up the theme manager.

As DC says, you're talking about 2 different programs....... ObjectDock, and ObjectBar..... the instructions for one, won't work for the other.
