Pin Folder as Menu! Thanks and feature suggestions...
So for years I have used True Launch Bar as a supplemental menu on my vertical taskbar in Windows; for a VERY long time. I've actually been refusing to go to 24H2 because this function is lost after significant portions of the code that Explorer Patcher re-enabled was removed from Explorer. Suffice it to say my particular neurodivergence was really negatively impacted by this small thing.
This morning as I was once again telling the upgrade to not apply, I went back to go over the Start11V2 settings more closely and found the Pin folder as menu function! So I thought I would test it for functionality, and low and behold it provides the one thing that has kept me from going with 24H2 since it first showed up in the Insider build channel in which I have my primary machine.
It works like a charm, though finding the icons I was using in TLB has been a bit of a challenge. So some suggestions:
- It would be helpful to make this pin folder as menu function to allow for graphic file formats such as what Icon Packager accepts. In fact a new Icon Packager the supported this would be even better.
- Re-arranging the order of items in the menu would also be very helpful. Such as drag&drop within the menu itself. (If there are other ways to do this let me know, please, someone.)
- Can we force the Pinned folders to come before the running applications in the Taskbar? I've moved them but they appear to go back to running apps first after a reboot, or Explorer restart. Or could we force the running apps to be centered while pinned folders are aligned next to the "start" button?
- Is it possible to have a show name options so we can have the icons and the folder name next to each icon? Not the entire path, just the final folder name that was selected for pinning.
