Taskbar

wILL Stardock be adding a function to move the taskbar in Windows 11, as "Startallback" software has done? strictly speaking, Stardock Software has dropped the ball with this disappointing issue with Windows 11.

In 24H2 MS has put a block on StartAllBack and other customizing software, but Start11 and WB will continue to function.

yes, but according to Britec09's latest upload to YouTube that block has been lifted. and it works well, apparently. For now

Either way, Start11 isn't blocked. I wouldn't bet on SAB and EP working much longer...

As for moving the taskbar, MS has hard coded that out, apparently. If moving it to the left edge (I assume that's your concern) were possible, SD would have included it.

Consider rolling back to Windows 10 if it's that important to you. There is still over a year's support there.

i have a dual boot system, W10 with Start10 working well for years with left side taskbar, i also have W11 with Start11 installed in that system, so there is no need to rollback, LOL, but having taskbar on left side in W11 is the most important thing in life right now. But whatever, i will install StartAllBack alongside SD11 and see what happens. just would be good if SD had the option

I think the point here is that stardock will never hack Windows 10 parts into a Windows 11 system. Their way of doing software is to actually create it from the ground up. If start 11 does allow the taskbar to move that will mean a whole lot more work to get functional then what Startallback and explorerpatcher do. From stardocks point of view startallback uses shortcuts rather then long term solutions.

Certainly we can all debate the pros and cons of using Windows 10 parts on a Windows 11 system to great length.

The good news here is that start 11 is compatible with software that allows windows 10 parts. You can use startallbacks taskbar with start 11's superior start menu.
