For security reasons you cannot copy registry keys from one computer to another for configured machines, and at a minimum you would have to reconfigure the connections as the passcodes will all be incorrect. The information is encrypted to prevent someone copying the saved connection data from the registry.
Hello Neil,
As you're saying, the instructions by Sean (Stardock Product Lifecycle Manager) won't work.
Do you have suggestions on how to accomplish this task (migrate the primary from my T7910 (Windows 10 Pro x64) to T7920 (Windows 11 Pro x64))?
Thank you.
They will 'work' in that all the 'settings' will export \ import. What it apparently will not do is preserve the passcodes for security reasons - which makes sense.
Feature Suggestion: Please consider adding a migration feature to help us move to a new system OR to add a new primary should one own multiple licenses or a copy of PRO (9 pack).
While a settings export is a fine suggestion, the passcodes would still not likely be a part of it (or at least the export would have to be securely verified).
As for your 'or' You can already promote a Secondary to a Primary
However, it would not copy the settings from the original Primary, what I suspect you are asking for.
