Show my most used applications after my pinned shortcuts

I have been a long-time user of the Start menu. I have used the Windows 7-style menu for a long time, since Start8.
From using Start11 (any version), I have never gotten recently used applications to appear in this menu on any PC I've owned. It has always remained a large white void. As a workaround, I have resorted to pinning all my most used applications.

I have turned on the option to show recently used applications in Windows and Start11 and experimented with every other option in your software. It must work, or the feature wouldn't be there, and even though I have turned your software inside out to get it to work, I clearly don't have the secret sauce. Is there something I am not doing? Thanks in advance.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system.

  1. Windows 7,8,10 or 11? Also need full build number, use Winver.exe
  2. Start11 full version number.
  3. Screenshots of you system on these setting.

Thank you.

Thanks for the quick reply, Basj. I am using Start11 version 2.08, which I believe is the latest.

Hello,
I can't reproduce your issue on my system. It might be something in Windows setting that keep track of application usage that need to be turn on. I am not sure where that at. However, I have forwarded your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Thanks, Basj. I did wonder if it was a Windows setting causing it, but I am not sure which one it could be.

I can also confirm on my end that that this should indeed work and look like the screenshot image basj has shared.

Here are some troubleshooting steps to follow that should help identify what's unique about your situation:

  • Purge the program. Before reinstalling, download again from your account's product page.  Remember to reboot after removing and again after reinstalling, and to not immediately restore your current backed up settings before checking if the product is working normally. This will allow you to start from scratch for troubleshooting your Start11 v2 settings, and also ensure you have the latest build of the Start11 v2.08 file.

If that doesn't work (ie, the problem persists with fresh install of latest build and minimal settings changes), please:

  • Test Start11 v2 in Windows Sandbox. This may be necessary to determine if there's something you've done in Windows, or another program you have installed that's causing some conflict.  If it works in this environment, you can start the process of systematically enabling windows settings and programs from your main system that you think might be affecting your start menu configuration.

If you still experience the problem with the latest build of Start11 v2 from your account's product page in a Windows Sandbox, please let us know.  If possible, a screenshot image and/or video upload so we can see what reproducing your issue looks like would also be helpful.

Thank you,
