Windows 11 default leftovers

I have been working with WindowBlinds11 the past few days and cannot correct an issue I see with a lot of the skins (if not all) on Windows 11.  The issue being that when you access a settings menu (going into start and selecting settings) the maximize, minimize and close buttons on the title bar from the default skin (under the custom skin [in this case, windows classic] ) are peeking out ever so slightly and can even be highlighted - they have no function and only highlight - but this is immersion breaking and ruins it for me tbh.  Any ideas?  Running the latest build of windows atm.

also - how do I get rid of these freakin tabs in file explorer!?  Thank you for any and all advice

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your issue.

  1. Windows 11 full build number. Use Winver.exe
  2. WB11 version installed.
  3. Screenshot of the issue would help us understand it better.

Windowblinds do not have control on how to remove File explorer tab. But, I believe there are other 3rd party application that can revert Window explorer to classic style Explorer which also, from what I heard, skin better with Windowblinds. Application such as Windhawk.

Thank you.

1. Windows 11 Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3593)

2. WindowBlinds 11.02 (017 x64 - Windows 11 Edition) - 64 bit OS

So these screenshots are when I hover right at the edge of where the actual settings home page it looks like the original close/maximize/minimize are ghosting their way through.  This looks this way on all skins I've used - and I know it's totally a nitpicky thing to talk about but it is a thing that happens and I've been trying to fix it.  Thought the source would be the best place.  This is what it looks like at rest:

Here's one in the Windows Classic Theme (which I reallllly like from Stardock) where its prominent:

I understand that with all these Windows 11 updates it hard to keep up but I'm sure there's some workaround to influence these fields.

Thank you for any and all advice - love this product.

End of jacobmoscynski's quote

Not sure what you mean by "actual settings home page". I wish you have posted a larger screenshot so I can understand which windows did you took those screenshots from.

added: as a reference: This is what I get on my Windows 11 system. From the back. Windows setting, Explorer, Notepad and Calculator.

Thank you,

Hey Basj!

so the offender is the windows setting - which is the back most window.  If you hover your cursor above where I’m indicating - you should see the ghosting effect.  It’s almost as if the original icons are being activated.

thank you!

Okay, after checking again specifically on Windows setting at maximized windows the issue can be reproduced. I have forwarded your issue to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Thank you.

Hey Basj!

cool - glad you were able to reproduce.  Like I said - I know this is a bit picky thing, and it could be easily ignored - but it’s the last element that would complete the complete immersion without reminder that it’s just a skin, which ultimately seems like an important factor.  Also - thanks for the tip on the third party applications, I grabbed explorer patcher and it handled the tabs in file explorer and made the reskin process look so much nicer!

thank you,
