Ships hiding in anomalies

Interesting situation. 2 Xelosi 'fortress' ships were right on top of a red, defended anomaly. No way to get to it other than declaring war. so i thought about it and used the wormhole generator to remove the Xeloxi fortresses and survey the anomaly. The more you know...

thank you for reporting this. this is a known issue resulting from the xeloxi "crime lord" ability that allows the AI to commandeer ships that are defending an anomaly. it is on our team's list to fix and will be fixed in a future update.

Be careful how you use that wormhole generator.  I used it to breakup a siege of a planet I couldn't get to before the enemy fleet conquered it so I could save a colony transport stationed there.  The attacking fleet was sent to god knows where just fine, but the game insisted that the planet was still under siege and still wouldn't let my transport ship leave.  I couldn't free it when my relief fleet arrived either since there was no enemy fleet to defeat.  That planet was still under siege when I moved on to a new game with the next update }:)

That is interesting.  I tried that in past and removed the ships without a problem.  When I tried to survey the anomaly, a whole new fleet of the pirate fortresses was guarding it.  Things were worse than before.  I may have waited a turn before I could get a survey ship there, which may have allowed the defending ships to reappear.

Exactly. Meant to mention the anomaly was still guarded by indigenous fortresses, after transporting the Xeloxi ships away.
