IconPackager 10.03 on Windows 11

Hi

I am running IconPackager v10.03 on Windows 11 (build 22631.3527).
According to your own compability list, then it should be fully compatible:
stardock-app-compatibility
The thing is, I have files that are not showing the icon I set up in IconPackager. It sometimes takes another icon from my package. I did notice this problem already on Windows 10. I am not sure, but it seems like it happens when you get over a certain amount of icons in the package. I have 110 so far.
Also, Live Folders only worked intermittently on Windows 10, and have NEVER worked on my Windows 11 installation.

Any ideas or fixes (or maybe an upcoming patch?)

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Do you see if you test with any of those icon pack that come with Icon packager? If you do please let me know the icon pack name. And tell me which icons don't changed accordingly. As for Live Folders, I believe this is known issue on Windows 11.

Thank you.

My problems occur only with custom files I have added (xml, txt, pdf, 7z, rar, vbs, html, jpeg, mp3 and so on) so using a standard package won't show any problems. Also, they seem to change at random. One or 2 filetypes might show the pdf icon even though they are set up for a different one.
I have to say I used to have more than 200 icons in my package, but at the moment with only about 110 it seems like it's behaving (for now). I WOULD like to have the full 200+ icons again, so all filetypes on my system have the same icon set, but as said... When having too many icons it starts acting up.

In regards to the Live Folders... Are you planning a fix? I would REALLY like to keep using IconPackager.

Could you share your Icon pack and let me check it. Also please post a screenshot of what you see on your live folders on Windows 11

Thank you,

I wanted to give you examples, so I applied the "Windows Default Icons" package to show the difference, and then went back to my own package.
Now it all acts fine, except from the live folders, which ALL just shows the standard folder.
I also just noticed that all file types opened by Notepad++ refuse to change to my icons.

On the attached image, ALL folders shown contains multiple subfolders and/or files, but as you can see most of them refuse to show the correct icon.

In regards to my icon pack, I'll pm you a link to it. It's just the .ip file inside a 7-zip archive (due to limited filetypes accepted by the server).

My guess is, it best to switch to default Windows icons set so that the icons cache could be rebuild. As for Live Folders, this, I believe has been reported by few others too. I forwarded this issue to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Note: Your Blood icons set look really high quality and from my short test, it show no issue on my system.

Thanks

The icon set actually consist of icons/sets found online, with only a few additions from my side |-)

As mentioned in the last post, I did switch to Windows default and back to my icon pack.

It fixed all but the live folders and those file types opened by notepad++.

I'll keep an eye out for updates, and hope that you manage to fix those live folders.

Hi

I am running IconPackager v10.03 on Windows 10 (19045.4291).

When I run the software, the window display is incomplete, and I cannot view the full screen nor adjust the resolution. What should I do?
