Groupy 1 no loger work, forced upgrade to V2

Since last update Groupy 1 is not longer work, when I launch the program it just opens the page to upgrade to Groupy 2 which is not a free upgrade.

I paid 10$ for a lifetime license, your action is violation consumer law !!!

You need to either restore Groupy 1 functionality or provide free upgrade to V2, otherwise I'll take legal actions.

That should not be happening.

Can you post a screenshot of the popup please as it sounds like part of it is being clipped somehow.

Or are you saying there is no popup showing at all and on open it opens that page?

If that's the case I suspect you have a corrupted file or a machine with extremely outdated root certificates.  It would be worth uninstalling, rebooting and then reinstalling Groupy 1 to rule out file corruption.

Finally what version of Windows are you using?

Same here. No popup, just launches the web site more or less stating you have to upgrade.

It is technically working for me, but I can not get to the setting screen, it just launches the web site again. And no where does it stat that it will not use your old license key.

It's happening on 2 system, both running Windows 10 Pro 22H2 build 19045.4170

1st with an old installation settings doesn't work and jumps to web page.

2nd with a fresh new installation doesn't work at all, click shortcut goes to web page directly.

We have been able to reproduce this and have a fix in the works.

It will be put out as a matter of urgency.  When Groupy prompts for an update and you install it you should find it is working correctly again.

Please accept my apologies for this bug.  When the software detects it isn't validly signed it takes you to the Groupy update webpage (which is the same in v1 and v2) and it wasn't noticed that the Stardock digital cert changed between Groupy 1 and now so it isn't being seen as valid.

its preventing me from using my settings as well, forcing me to upgrade but one of you said that updating from the normal pop up will work, how do i force it to update when the popup doesn't show up?

edit: luckily i had an old installer on my computer that i reinstalled after removing the previous version, it now works without updating but i suspect my version is out of date. however i will probably block it in my firewall to prevent this issue happening again. side note you cant even download groupy 1 off your website, you guys may want to fix that.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, what error did you get when you tried downloading Groupy v1.51.1 from the website?

Thanks
