Assistance Required: Issue Adding Shortcuts to ObjectDock v3

Dear Stardock Support Team,

I recently upgraded to ObjectDock v3, a decision driven by my satisfaction with the product's previous versions and the anticipation of its enhanced capabilities. Initially, I was very pleased with the upgrade, especially considering the difficulties I encountered with the functionality of the previous version towards the end of its usage.

However, I've encountered a significant issue that is affecting my workflow. I am unable to add shortcuts or exe's directly onto the dock. Every attempt to drag and drop either shortcuts or .exe files is met with a red circle indicating a 'no entry' sign, which prevents the action from completing. This issue persists irrespective of the type of file I try to add to the dock, creating a considerable obstacle in setting up my working environment to its full capacity.

I rely heavily on ObjectDock for organising my workspace and ensuring efficient access to my most used applications and files. This setback is, therefore, quite distressing and has put a halt to my productivity.

Could you please provide guidance on how to resolve this issue? Are there specific settings or permissions that I might need to adjust to enable the drag-and-drop functionality? Furthermore, if there are any troubleshooting steps or updates available to address this problem, I would be grateful for your advice on how to proceed.

Best regards,

KC

I just wanted to post an update regarding the issue I previously reported about adding shortcuts and .exe files to ObjectDock v3. After some tinkering and troubleshooting, I've managed to resolve the problem and thought it might be beneficial to share the solution for anyone who might encounter a similar issue.

It turns out the root cause was related to compatibility settings from a previous installation. Despite upgrading to ObjectDock v3, the application retained the compatibility mode settings for Windows 8, which I had applied to get the most out of the software on my old Windows 11 build. Once I identified and corrected this oversight, everything started working as intended. I'm thrilled to report that I can now drag and drop items onto the dock without any issues.

I'm incredibly pleased with the new version of ObjectDock and must extend my gratitude to the developers for updating this indispensable tool, making it fully compatible with Windows 11. It's genuinely revitalised my workspace, and I'm excited to customise it further on my new build.

However, I do have one remaining question for the community or the support team. The current installation seems to be the 32-bit version, located in the x86 program files folder. Given that my system and, presumably, the software itself are designed to support 64-bit architecture, I'm curious about the availability of a 64-bit executable for ObjectDock v3. Could anyone provide information on where to find the 64-bit version, if available?

Thank you once again to the Stardock team for their continuous efforts to improve and adapt their software. And a big thank you to this community for being a resourceful and supportive space.

Best regards,
KC

Hello,

Great to hear you resolved your issue.

As on the 64-bit. Actually, OD3 is 64-bit platform. Please refer screenshot of my Taskmanager.

Thank you.
