Installing Fences 5

Error installing Fences 5

I get this message trying to install fences 5: 

I have tried the purge fences app and it does not fix the problem.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Look like you have your antivirus/security software blocking some files. What antivirus software you're using? Also how do you download the installer? Direct download from your account download page? Via ObjectDesktop manager?

I am also having this issue.  Windows 11 Build 2261.ni_release.220506-1250.  Windows Defender is the only anti-malware on the system.

Upgrading over Fences 3.  I have not yet tried the purge batch file. 

Fences 3 does not appear in my Programs and Features and running the \Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Fences\uninstall.exe produces the error "Invalid start mode: archive filename"

I downloaded the Fences 5 installer from the purchase page at Stardock.com. 

Fences 3 says there is an update available.  I downloaded and tried to install that, and got the same error "Could not open the uninstall executable for writing: Encountered a sharing violation while accessing C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Fences\lua5.1.dll.  C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Fences\uninstall.exe"

I have a Product Key and need to have another download.exe for Fences. My old email doesnt work because the company where I bought the product is no longer in business. Please help.

Hello, checking for status update.

I purchased a fresh Fences subscription so I could upgrade from Fences 3 but still haven't had any luck.  If it proves necessary is a refund available?
