Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system.

  1. Windows full version numbers. Use Winver.exe
  2. Start11 full version numbers.

Thank you.

I have the exact same problem on 2 of my computers so far. What is the Enhanced mode?

Never had this problem until Start11's most recent update. I have been restarting Windows Explorer also to correct the taskbar but that shouldn't be necessary.

I believe I found out what the Enhanced Mode is and I am not using it, if that matters.

I will disable  Enhanced Mode for the moment, but I think that this ia a bug that should be fixed!

If you are not using the enhanced mode option in Start11 for the taskbar then the icon painting isn't handled by Start11 so if you have blank icons that shouldn't be anything to do with Start11.

I really wish that were true but I never had this problem until the last update of Start11. That is when one of my computers started this. Then today, after Win 11 updated its monthly updates, on another machine, the same thing happened to it. I am not sure how to describe this but I'll try. Where there should have been visible icons on the Taskbar, there were little shadows on the icons. If I let the mouse hoover of them long enough they would identify themselves and, if clicked on, would open the app it should. I cannot say for sure what is the culprit but I can say for sure when this started happening.

My taskbar icons aren't displayed properly either. Once I turned off enhanced mode, the problem was resolved. I'm hoping there will be another update soon to fix this! 👍

This was addressed in the recent 2.07 update.

If you are still having problems then uninstall Start11, REBOOT (important) and reinstall 2.07

First of all I don't want to be unfair! Thank you for the update!

I always check the Change log and it is not clearly written that this issue is addressed.
Secondly while there is an open trouble thread about a problem we should be informed here as well that the issue is fixed.

We had just disabled a feature so how we could know if it is fixed or not.

I did the reboot and reinstall, but the same problem is happening.

I am not declaring complete victory yet. However, since 10APR24 I have not encountered the problem. On that day I delete all the shortcuts I either accidentally or on purpose pinned to the Quick Launch Toolbar. Since, in my opinion, it is no longer needed, I deleted those shortcuts and my problem has disappeared. However, this process came with a warning, which I'll pass along. It was help I got in another forum and it worked. Her it is:

"The folder for the Quick Launch Toolbar still exists, and you can view it in File Explorer.
Enter or copy/paste the following in the address bar of File Explorer, then press Enter:

%AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch

Warning: Do NOT delete this folder NOR its User Pinned subfolder. It is safe to delete shortcuts in this folder though."

Hope it works for everyone.

And mine is working ok since yesterday... (maybe too early to be happy)!
