CursorFX selection does not carry over on reboot

Cursor returns to Windows default

Hi. After I select my choice, it all works fine. But when I reboot, the default cursor is in place; I have to go open/configure, where it is shown, and after I select 'Apply', the change takes effect.

Weird, right?

Is there some Windows setting that is doing this or a bug?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know more on your system.

  1. Windows 7,8,10 or 11? And need its full version numbers. Use Winver.exe
  2. CursorFX version number.
  3. Is the issue happen on any cursor style or specific cursor only?

Thank you.

Check the Startup apps. Open the Task Manager and click on Startup apps in the left column. Check to see if CursorFX is listed and that it is enabled. If it is not listed, you might try uninstalling and reinstalling CursorFX. You should probably download a fresh copy of the installer from your account.

This is Windows 11. winver: Version 23H2 (OS Build 22631.3296)

CursorFX version is 4.03

Happens on the either of the two I have selected.

Good call on the Startups I think; it was marked as disabled from I don't know when/what. If enabling doesn't do the trick, then I'll retry the reinstall.

Well uninstalled. Reboot. Install. Reboot. Startup app is enabled. Still doesn't show the selected choice.

That's very strange indeed. Something during boot must be blocking the startup. It could be a timing issue with another startup app.

Is this a new issue or has it always been this way?

Could there be some interference from a antivirus program or a conflict from another app? Very strange, indeed.
