Hey, i buy this programm years ago. But i couldnt Update this to Version 2. Is this a bug, or are you scammers that need now Money for an update?
We are not scammers.
Customers who purchased Start11 v1 cannot use their codes in v2 but do have the option for a discount. This is how we have always sold software (most companies pre subscription software did), standalone customers get minor updates free but major version updates are paid.
You are more than welcome to keep using v1 which had an update with many fixes earlier this month if you are not interested in anything v2 offers.

and click on Object Desktop Manager tab and then on View Individual Downloads you should be able to view all the software you are entitled to.
Where i found the discount? If i dont pay fullprice for it than, than okay, fair! But if i allready have pay 10€ for vs 1 and than another 10€ for vs 2. That just isnt fair.
So i just save one € only... pff. I get Skyrim Legendary Edtion for free, because i was have the Main Game and all DLCs. I understand a payoff - but from 8 to 7€? Thats all?
You have no need to change from one version to a newer one.
If, however you change your OS to a different version you might need to also update any software you want to use on that new OS.
This is entirely your choice, no-one is forcing you to buy a different version of anything.
Example...
I am still using Windows 7 as my primary OS.
I don't even have Stardock's 'Start 10 or 11' on this particular machine at all.
Similarly I have remained using Directory Opus 10 which was released in 2014 and have not upgraded it as it has been entirely sufficient. Current version is 13.3 but I am happy with 10.
Everyone, who buy this new, dont need like me pay 2 Times! I pay the new version for max 3.99€. 8€ again, 7€ is just to expensive. Maybe i bring reddit into it, we will see, what they wanna say to it. Its scam. Nothing more. Realy.
The only other way to pay developers for there time to develop software would be with a subscription model. In that model Start 11 would cease to function if the annual due was not met.
The current model is way better because your software actually continues to function after you put money towards it. With version 2, you get to choose whether you feel the developers have done well with their time and effort by either buying (aka re-subsribing) to the next version or sticking to version 1 because it doesn't satisfy you... You are in a lot more control here. With a subscription model you just get whatever is thrown at you.
Imo, there is no better way to do start 11 v2 unless Stardock finds a way to talk the developers into working for free.
