Win 23H2 Update broke Start Menu Options

Computer updated to Win 11 23H2 Build 22631.3155 on 23-Feb-2024. Since that update, no Start11 Start Menu option will work. Clicking the Start Button causes the menu to display for no more the 2 seconds. Then the computer behaves as if "restart Explorer" has been clicked with the taskbar relocating to the bottom and then back to the top, as preferred.

I have "purged" the installation and updated to Ver 2.05.4 and the beta 2.06. Neither made a difference.

I've shut off the Start menu alternatives and am soldiering through with the Win 11 poor excuse for a menu.

Fortunately, the taskbar seems to be working OK at the top as I prefer.

Any input will be appreciated.

Are you by any chance also running Explorer Patcher? If so, update it to the latest version. Windows updates are notorious for breaking Explorer Patcher.

No to Explorer Patcher.

I uninstalled. Purged. Installed the beta and life seems to be "good" until I attempt to restore settings.

I'll not rebuild my start menu until we see if there are more repercussions. Like all of us, there are the things I have to have at hand and the things that it is nice to have at hand.

Are you able to provide us with a link to your saved settings?

It sounds like a corrupted setting is causing issues rather than anything to do with the Windows update.

Gladly if you'll tell me how/where to send the backup. I'm not finding instructions.

I hear what you're saying about the update not being the cause but I've made no recent changes to the menu and it failed the first time I tried to use it after the update.

You can put it on some file sharing site and send me a private message with a link. Or even open up the file in notepad and copy and paste the contents into a private message.
