Start10 1.98 Release Feedback Thread

With the Start10 1.98 release, we are creating this thread so that users can report any observed issues.  

Obtaining the product

Object Desktop members can get the release from within Object Desktop Manager 

Individual purchases (as well as Object Desktop Members) can also be obtained from your account page: https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products

Reporting an issue

Please include the following for anything found:

  • Exact Windows version \ build (winver.exe)

  • Detailed steps to recreate the issue seen

  • Screenshots and videos are very helpful.  Videos can be uploaded to a cloud drive service (GoogleDrive, DropBox, OneDrive, YouTube), with a shared link included in your post.  Images can be copied and pasted directly into a post.

  • If there are specific apps that the app does not work (well) with, please note what apps and their exact versions.  If any app is not common, a link to a trial version would be appreciated.

Known issues

While we appreciate all feedback, please remember that we offer no official support for beta \ preview \ developer channel versions of Windows. If you report issues while in any of those early release channels, you should not expect them to be addressed unless it still exists in a retail version of Windows.

Tried to download it from Majorgeeks but it aborted when running the update. Also did not see v1.98 on your website. In check for Updates in Start10 app, said no updates from v1.97

It can take some time for some (the result of caching) but I did test this... Immediately after installing 1.97, I get this

I had to hunt for a long time to find the changelog/release notes for this product. It would be very helpful to provide a link to that information in the app, like in the About page. Currently there is now is a general Visit Website button, which is where I began and revisited, trying to find this info. But a direct link would be great.

Otherwise, I'm very happy with the product, and thank you!

Ever since I updated Start 10 version 1.98 when I restart Windows Windows 10 menu is back. I have to go through the menu and click on Stardock, and then Start 10. Very annoying to launch Start10, after every Windows restart. How to fix this problem.

Uninstall Start10, reboot and reinstall.

If that does not help then there may be something interfering with startup.  What antivirus package do you use?

I uninstalled Start 10, reboot and reinstall as you suggested, and that solved the problem. Thank you.
