Start11 2.05 - No Stardock menu by mouse clicking Windows icon on taskbar

Hello,

like deskribed in this post, since upgrading from Start11 V1.xx to V2.05, the Stardock Start11 menu (Windows-11 stile) only opens by pressing the Windows icon key on the keyboard. By pressing the Windows start icon on the Windows desktop with the computer mouse, the standard Windows 11 menu will open. The Windows build is 22631.3085

I uninstalled Start11 and keeped settings. I rebooted immediately after uninstall finished. I re-download the latest version again from your product page and installed it. I rebooted again immediately after installation finished. Unfortunately the same behaviour.

I have no other application installed that change/modified my Windows taskbar?

Thank you for help,

Martin

Hello again.

Thank you for moving your issue here. First to clarify, you're currently on Start11v2.06 beta?

One step further - creating a new admin account worked fine, no cleanboot was necessary. The Start11 menu now also appears by mouse clicking.

Inside my regular account, I checked all installed software again. The only software which maybe could be a problem is Microsoft Power Toys? I deactivated auto boot but the problem still exists.

Possibly, corrupted main admin account.

Yes, that show your normal main account is somehow corrupted. You did mentioned that on the new admin account it work. So that show that Start11 itself work. Just not on your normal main account. What you can do is scan and see if that corrupted admin account can be repair.

Maybe you can try this guide.

Please try the following:

-For Win8/10/11 Users: Open the Start Screen, and type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator' from below.

-For 7 Users: click Start, in the start search field type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator'.

-Type: sfc /scannow

-Wait for the scan to complete (this can take several minutes)

If the SFC finds errors, but cannot fix them, please also run the following command in the same command prompt window:

dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

The above command should assist with replacing any damaged or problematic system files. Please note, however, since it may require restoring certain files, this process can take some time and you will need to be patient until it has completed.
