Start 11 2.05

Start menu icon not central

I have been using Stardock’s Start start menu for years now, and I love it. I have used Start11 for the last twelve months, and the Start Menu icon in the taskbar is all over the place on my 4k monitor. It is only central in the taskbar 50% of the time. It is so unsightly, and I am surprised a bug like this has been missed for so long.

It is not specific to my system, as it behaves similarly on multiple Windows 11 machines I have tested it on. I am unsure if it is isolated to 4k monitors, as that is all I use.

What version of Start11 were you using before and what version of Windows 11?

Thats not normal.

Also does this happen with one of the default start buttons included with Start11?

Finally I wasn't sure if you were saying this also happened in prior versions of Start11?

Thanks for the quick response. It's occurred on all versions of Start 11. I'm currently on the latest version. It has also done this on all versions of Windows 11 over the last 12 months, and I keep the OS updated regularly.

I've not yet tried the default buttons, as I have used this 'Windows 7' button for years with all previous versions of Start menu (before upgrading to Start11) and it's worked 100% of the time.

I will give it a go with the default buttons and see what happens. It would be a shame if we can no longer use alternative buttons. The thing that surprises me is that it's not always out of position. Sometimes I can reboot and it snaps back into the middle again.

As instructed. I tried the default buttons. It was okay for a couple of days, and it's now gone the same way. Again, it is behaving this way on multiple machines. Something is clearly broken with Start11.

I even tried changing the scale of Windows 11 from the default of 150% to 100% to see if it would jump back to the middle, but it's even worse. Having used this software since it came out years ago with no issues, it's so bizarre to see something like this that I can't get rid of. It's aesthetically unappealing. I await suggestions to help resolve this before contacting support for a refund. Thanks.

Does this computer have a touchscreen?

No Neil. It is a Samsung 32 inch 4k monitor. I used it as an external monitor to my gaming laptop.

I would recommend trying our 2.06 beta as it has some changes to how it detects touch mode support and it looks related to me.

This is available on your Stardock store downloads.
