No notification of new Start 11 V2 release?

Pretty disappointed to be left in the dark on this

I have been using Start menu since 2018. I received the first update in many months to W11 V1 today. When I went to this website to check what was updated, I find out that a major update (V2) has been available since October of last year. I would think it would have been pretty standard practice to notify existing customers of major update releases if only to spur upgrade purchases. I would also think that a user that had opted-in to beta releases would have been offered a chance to try out new software in advance of its release. I certainly don't think a long-time user should have to subscribe to marketing newsletters or monitor the discussion boards to learn about major new releases.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, if you don't subscribe to marketing newsletters or monitor the forums, how do you expect an announcement such as Start11 v2 release be able to reach you?

Thank you.

The same way it does for the vast majority of apps- a notification from the app at startup. I get a popup upgrade notification whenever I open Start11 settings now, so the capability is clearly something Start11 could do. Also, if the user has purchased software, then it's not necessarily marketing spam to send notifications of new releases by email. I get them all the time for software where I don't subscribe to marketing messages. Also, since I opted-in to beta builds, it's expected to receive notifications when new beta builds are available.

For v1 to notify you we had to modify v1 to add that prompt so it wasn't possible for the build to tell you about betas without us forcing a build to all the customers.  We did this with v1.5 as it was the next update released after v2 was launched.

Unfortunately if you opt out of emails you will not get notifications.

Stardock have sent numerous emails about S11 v2 so I suspect you are either opted out of all emails or they are going to spam.

Here's my email settings:

Seems like I did not opt out of product updates. Also, I did a search and I was receiving Stardock emails until July of last year, including the Start11 v1.3 update notification. There's nothing in client-side SPAM and my server-side spam filter, which I administer, has not caught any Stardock email either.

Can you DM your email address, I want to look to see if we can find out why the emails are not making it to your account.
