Dear Basj,
BIG MESS! But I now solved it!!
Step by step:
First of all I deinstalled version 4 before I installed version 2.
But I was not able to open the configuration window.
I know from the past that the themes are under C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\CursorFX
I found that all themes where still there AFTER uninstall. Strange?!
I moved them away to another folder.
Suddenly the configuration windows opened!
Then I deinstalled everything again (by the way with revo uninstaller what should clean also things which the uninstaller of the program leaves behind).
Then I installed version 2.16 again.
It worked. The configuration window opened and it behaved as you explained. I typed in my email address and the product key and it was accepted.
Then I copied back ALL themes from previously.
An then the configuration window did not open anymore!?!
Ok, again all uninstalled and the themes folder deleted.
Then it worked again and I copied just one theme from the old ones back to C:\Users\Public\Documents\Stardock\CursorFX.
It still worked and I could select the copied theme / cursor.
It seems that some cursors (newer ones) make a problem to the configuration window of the version 2.
Then I tested my Delphi programs. They work as expected!! Thanks god …
So, what I can now clearly say is
- that with version 2.16 no conflict to Delhi 11.3 exists
- but with version 4.03 the hints are not where they are supposed to be
- and sometimes the Delphi program crashes with an exception which targets to a pointer to nil, means an access to memory not allowed.
I hope you can give this to your team. If they need support to further dig into the matter, you can give them my email address.
I can reproduce the issues now pretty good.
Regards
Harald (from good old Germany 😊)
