[Solved] Version 2.2 Crash

I attempted to load GalCiv4 Supernova from Steam today, and apparently Version 2.2 has been applied.

The game no longer functions for me. It loads all the way up to creating or opening a galaxy, and then freezes. I have to end the process with Task Manager.

During bootup, it produces the following error message. Suggestions welcome.
