Overriding Start11 Taskbar Context Menu
Nilesoft Shell Customization
I should’ve posted this when I was on the Start11 v2 trial period, so I ask that you bear with me on this.
TL/DR: is there a way to overwrite Start11v2’s taskbar context menu with Nilesoft Shell’s? Start11v1.4 allows this.
I’m currently using Start11 v1.4 through Steam (regret this!) and love everything it brings. I also use Nilesoft Shell to customize all my right-click context menus, which looks great and cleans things up for my day-to-day usage.
As of the time of writing this, I can tell you that my Shell customization for the taskbar overwrites Start11’s taskbar context menu. This extends to the power button in the Start menu as well. This is exactly what I want. I want to see my Nilesoft Shell context menus when right-clicking on the taskbar and using the Start Menu power button. All is good.
When I tried Start11v2 with the trial version, I noted that I had Start11’s context menu on the taskbar, which I didn’t want. Is there a way to disable Start11’s context menu so I can use Nilesoft Shell’s features instead? When I experimented with Start11’s settings, I couldn’t get it to how I’ve got with Start11v1.4.
I’m happy with my current setup, but my FOMO is kicking in with the new features v2 brings. I’m actually considering of paying the full price and just dropping the Steam version due to the slow updates. But I prefer my edits to the taskbar (and power button) context menu over Start11’s, and that’s stopping me from making the purchase.
