Icon behavior black/white after last Update

Start11 v2

Why the icons on Start11 v2 - Windows Pro Style are different since last update?

  -->

before the update 11/15 both icons (Store and OneCommander) were white although the .ico files are black.

Now - one is black - one is white - I'm confused !?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need more information on your system. Please provide.

  1. Windows full version number. Use Winver.exe to get the version number.
  2. How were the "Store" and "OneCommander" added to the Shortcut List. The Steps you did to add it. I am asking to make sure that I can try to reproduce your issue.

Thanks

Is the store icon actually fully black?

Are you able to post a link to the .ico file for us so we can test it here please?

Hello again,

Actually I wanted to know, how did you add Store and OneCommander to your Quick access shortcut list? I think I can figure out how you change the icons. Not sure on the first part.. getting those link to appear on your Quick access shortcuts list.

Thank you,

Create a shortcut somewhere; then "Add link to shortcut."

I downloaded your icons and experienced the same results on ver 2.03. I also tried changing a few icons to mostly black icons and they were white in the menu. I created a white MS Store icon for you. (See below)

Here is a white copy of the MS Store icon (256x256 png)

Thank you. I forgot all about that steps. Okay now that I have set it up. I see the problem. I think it has something to do with the icons itself. The Microsoft icons is not true black icons. Refer screenshot below. its colored 33,33,33

instead the other one. is true black at 0,0,0

I made my own store icons at RGB 0,0,0 and it work. It change to white. when in dark mode.

Refer screenshot below.

Thanks

Good catch basj. That explains why the black icons I tested appeared white.

Hello everyone :star:

Thank you for your efforts... I took the solution from Basj with the new white PNG - I wouldn't  thought that it could be the "wrong" color, because it has shown as white until the last version of the start11 v2 software!

My unique Startmenu is nice again - Thanks a lot. Carsten.

Hi all, I have a similar problem. My gripe is that it was working well before the update, so wouldn’t it better/efficient for Stardock to look into what changed and revert it, than individual users like us changing one by one?
