icon sizes

is there any way on Windows Xp to change the size of the desktop icons? I'm currently just using window blinds and cursor xp, if you need to know. I do not have desktop Xp though. I would like the images to become larger and different sizes if possible.

I tried playing around with WinFX, but it wouldn't get the icons any bigger than 48x48. As far as I know, using WB and CursorXP, you cannot achieve what you want. Sorry.

Display Properties=>Appearance Tab=>Effects=>Check Large icons.

I'm sure there are other ways , but that's the easiest.

That's how I ended up with 48x48 on the desktop. I sure wish there was a way to make the icons in the explorer panes larger.

IconPackager will set them as large as 72x72. Look in Settings > Icon size.

Koasati, that won't change the icons in the explorer panes. Like the Directory pane or the Files pane.

you can make them larger through the registry, but some dialogues look funny because some of the icons got cut off.

in
current user/control panel/desktop/windowmetrics/

change the shell icon size to whatever

Thanks for that tip 3/4Crazy Travis. I just want the explorer icons bigger. Changing the icon size in IP didn't seem to do anything at all.

what is said will make the icons in explorer bigger if you select icons as the way files are shown in explorer. as far as I know that is the only way. I think you might have to restart though to see the effect. It also makes your desktop icons bigger..
