Does Start 11 v3 use version 2's settings (configuration)

Start 11 v3: Do I have to start all over configuring the menu?

note:  I was confused about the version numbers and have edited them.  The answers are provided in the responses below.

Thank you forum

I installed Start 11 V2, a new purchase and it looked like I needed to reconfigure everything?  I uninstalled and was concerned that my older version 2 settings were wiped out.

So, I wonder if the latest version 2 has another location and must be configured completely for this version  I reinstalled 11 vs and the settings were not changed. whew!

I am reluctant to install the latest V2 if my past version is altered and irretrievable.

Just confused about what needs to be done to keep the Win7 configuration, color and start button choice among other things.

Thanks.

PB

You should be able to to install V3 over V2. It worked fine for me. Also Start11 uses the registry to store its information. Unless you uninstall and tick off the remove settings option they should remain. If you're worried about a mishap then you can always export your settings from V2 and import them back in V3 (should you need to).

Hello,
But, where is the V3 coming from? The latest I can find is V2 Beta 2, no?

Thank you.

End of basj's quote

I simply assumed that he meant 2.0.0.4.

Sorry, got my versions mixed up.  The latest version 2 was offered for 3.99, for past users a day ago.

For your question. I believe your V2 version setting will still be there once you update it to latest V2 updates. Just to be sure, you can always back up your setting using its build in backup functions, before you do the updates.

Basj.  The upgrade worked well.  I was confused because this version required a repayment. But it overlaid the original 11.

I also learned how to back up the setting from a registry export.  Thanks to all.

V2 and v1 share the same registry keys for settings.  Moving from v1 to v2 should not remove any settings.
