Unexpected problem

WindowBlinds blocks the launch of dialog boxes in programs.

stefanoodri@gmail.com

Hello! )

I have a program installed to hide files and folders.  This is "Lock Folder." Everything works great, but if any topic is activated, then the dialog box of this program cannot be launched. It does not appear on the screen. Adding to exceptions doesn't help. Any other settings don't help. Please, I ask for help! :)

Happy days,

Stefano

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I can not seem to find "Lock Folder" the application that you're referring to. Please give us a link to it, so we can  try it out and verify the issue.

Thanks

From that page, the software is from the Windows XP days, last update Oct, 2012. Which most probably causing the issue with current Windows and Windowblinds. Your system is still on Windows XP? If, yes, which version of Windowblinds you're currently using?

Thank you,

I am happy to have an answer and support again! :) Thank you!!! I have Windows 10 21H2. Lock Folder XP works great. His badge in the tray, doing his job well. I see the screenshot and I've already done it. Unfortunately, it didn't help. I have now completely removed and reinstalled WindowBlinds. I do the installation of any programs using RegOrganizer, I am sure that the removal is always complete. Reinstalling did not solve the problem. Probably my version of Windows does not allow... In the end, if you need to make changes to Lock Folder XP, I can temporarily switch to the system theme. This is a small inconvenience and does not cause concern at all. Thank you again, my friend!:) Happy days!!! :)

Sorry for the late thinking, but honestly, it's very strange why WindowBlinds blocks a program that I put on the list to ignore. I choose "Ignore this application and do not skin it," but WindowBlinds does not listen. This means that WindowBlinds continues to affect files. Is it normal?

It look like, to me, "Explorer.exe" need to be excluded from Windowblinds for Lock Folder XP to work properly. Some how, Lock Folder XP need Explorer.exe to do its job. But, if you excluded Explorer.exe from Windowblinds, a large part of Windows will not be skin. Anyhow, I have forward your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

I excluded Explorer.exe from Windowblinds, but it didn't help. You probably need to fix the Windowblinds program for the Aero 11 theme to be implemented correctly. : (

Honestly, I don't think Dev will change anything on Windowblinds 11 to work with an old application that create for Windows XP.

Thank you for your response! But we would like to inform you that there are other problems related to the operation of Windowblinds. For example, the incorrect display of one of the elements in the tray. Or the fact that when installing applications, a strange frame appears. And others we could report. Here is a screenshot of one of the problems.

Is the issue appear on all Windowblinds skin? That more like the application don't work with Skin shadow area. Is the issue also appear on Windows Explorer?

Yes, this problem exists when using any theme. This frame around the windows appears when installing programs. For Windows Explorer, we have not noticed such a problem yet. There are still some unpleasant nuances in the work of Windowblinds. We have already come to terms with them, but if necessary, we can periodically report them.

This does not happen in every installation. As soon as we notice this again, we will definitely inform the name of the program (preferably free, we will remember this).

  1. Don't install old software in new OS,then expected WB is skinned or not.
  2. Install and download software from official website, not third party portal
  3. There is new folder lock for Win10 : https://www.newsoftwares.net/folderlock/
