Windows 7 - Web site issue

I just installed Multiplicity on my Windows 7-32 bit pc and when I try to configure it, it simply takes me to the Stardock website.  If I try to run it from the exe in the porgrams folder, it takes me to the website.  Any ideas?

I can't.  Trying to do anything simply launches the browser and takes me to stardocks webseit.

Please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

It didn't work.  I did download the latest (note: there are 2 download links in my account - one has a SD in the name one does not.  However, when I download either, they both have SD in the name. 

So far the only result is that it takes me to the multiplicity website.  Please check the files on the server to make sure they're correct.  I tend to think they probably are because it does install with no errors.  But there is another weird thing:  There's no desktop shortcut that is created.  I believe on my W10 and W11 machines, the install creates a shortcut.  But on my W7pro 32- it does not leave a short cut.  And any attempt to run config or any of the EXE's results in a launch of the browser to Multiplicity's web page.

The tech OS support for the program states Windows 7 32 and 64 bit...maybe Windows 7 Professional 32 bit isn't supported? Maybe that's the problem? Just wondering.

Then they need to specify Home vs Pro.  Because Windows 7 pro is Windows 7.  Windows 7 home is Windows 7.

Did you the Purgexxx.Bat file before installing?

BTW, did you tried to download via your Product page?  https://store.stardock.com/myaccount/products and from Your Object Desktop manager listing? And if under object Desktop manager listing do you have your Object Desktop Subscription active?

The issue is you have extremely outdated root certificates.

Please ensure your computer is connected to the internet and has every single available update installed.

This is most common on new installs of OSes which do not know of the root certs for newer signing authorities until an update of them has taken place (which doesn't always happen).

The installer does not create a desktop shortcut.

Well I was able to get it all updated.  Once I was fully updated, I tried with a installing again and the same results.  I try to launch to configure and it opens the multiplicity website.  Is it possible W7 isn't compatible any longer.

This is the correct answer - it is happening because your root certificates are out of date.  While a Windows update has been the method to update them, you can update them manually.

If the PC cannot be updated for some reason, there is nothing we can do about it on the other end I am afraid. If at all possible, it would be prudent to consider updating the version of Windows.

Well as a last ditch effort, I was able to make it work.  I have an exact model Dell for my media center for my TV.  It is using W70 pro 32 bit.  I cloned it and put the cloned drive into the problem PC.  It worked.  Changed the computer name, assigned a new IP and Multiplicy is working.  

Not sure why a fresh install of W7-32 wouldn't updated certificates, but alas, I'm happy as long as it works.  I better clone these drives as back ups.

One last note in case anyone else reads in the future.  The one difference between the two PC's is the one that works with Multiplicity is using W7-64 not 32 bit.

Muliplicity icon shows "disconnected" and redirect to this website everytime I click "Configure Multiplicity"
