Groupy does not work very well with Edge

Edge problem

I have purchased and installed Groupy 2 for Win 11. I currently have one group, Edge and a file manager. All that works fine except for 1 problem. When the group was created, apparently a "snapshot" of some settings were captured. So when I display the group, Edge has the same settings as it did when I created the group including the last opened tabs. I just lost 20 tabs from the previous launch. I have Edge configured to open the last open tabs when launched. So I currently have Groupy disabled. I depend on the last opened tabs to show up when I re-launch Edge so this behaviour is unacceptable.

Any help resolving this problem would be appreciated.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. I can not reproduce your issue on my system. Need more details, please refer here: https://support.stardock.com/space/SHC/1387954187/Contacting+Stardock+About+Groupy+Issues

Need to know.

  • Needs Windows 11 full version number. Refer to the link.
  • Your Groupy "full" version number. 2.11?
  • Also need to know if those 20 tabs is under Edge tabs or Groupy Tabs? If its under Edge tabs, it will not be save in that Groupy save.

Thanks

Windows 11 Pro 22H2

Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22659.1000.0

Groupy ver 2.1

I launched the Groupy group which launched the file manager and Edge in the group.

I then opened 20 tabs in Edge within the group

I then rebooted the system

I again launched the Groupy group which launched the file manager and Edge in the group.

Edge had the original tabs when I created the group. The new 20 Edge tabs were gone.

Apparently, this is the expected behavior from the comment above?

Try following the above procedure, but save the group again before you close it, and see if maintains the new tabs when you reopen the group.

A saved group will reopen exactly what it knows was open when it was saved.

So in this case those other tabs are not known to Groupy and thus are not saved.

Thanks for the info. I have deleted the group that contained Edge. I don't want to have to remember to save the group before shutting down to save the current tabs on Edge. I just run Edge without the group and all is OK.
