On certain applications, Excel for example, it displays the Groupy window bar even though I only have one window open and no other windows grouped. How do I disable the window bar from showing unless I decide to group windows?
Click on the groupy icon top left. Pick Personalize tab. Then untick "Always show tabs for this type of window."

under the menu (from the top left), go to personalize tab, and untick "always show tabs for this type of window."
