Hi,
I have a LOT of problems using Groupy on my w11. The only feature working for me is the grouping on the windows taskbar.
- (already buggy with groupy 1) I can't use the windows features on visual studio. When i take a tab from visual studio to use the canva, groupy trigger and identify it as a new windows and try to group it.
- (new) 50% of the time, my tabs disapears and I cant click on the tabs. Tabs are still here, group is here, the place for the tab line is here but I cant see or use the tabs.
- (new) When I use on the same screen a groupy stack of windows and netflix (netflix is taking half of the screen or I set it always visible), when I click on a different tab on Groupy, the image disapear on netflix. I need to change my netflix window to make the video appearing again
- (old) I can have on the same Groupy stack different placement for my apps. For exemple I have app1 and app 2 on my stack, on the screen 1. I change app 1 (and so the groupy stack) to screen 2. When I click app 2, it's still on screen 1 and the groupy stack "move"
Thank you for the app ![]()
I would like to start with a purge \ install of the current beta, 2.11
https://forums.stardock.com/488142/groupy-support-faq#reinstalling
Again, 2.11 is what you want to install after the purge and try to do so with no setting changes for Groupy.
After, pick one of the issues you have above, test it again. If it's still an issue, please provide steps to reproduce it with an image \ video to support it. After it is addressed, we can move to the next.

Ok so the tabs issue is still present under windows 10 systems. The tabs dont align properly in the window frames. Its fine under windows 11, but windows 10 is pretty much like before on windows 11. Some themes it works fine, other is sticks out or is shifted downwards.

Hi, how can i get the beta version of groupy 2? can you show the link? thanks!
The link to it is in the first post of this thread.
Thank you,

I posted some while back about the combined taskbar button showing on all desktops instead of where the tabs are. Has anyone looked into this yet? It's not a huge deal more of a minor annoyance but it does break the paradigm of keeping workloads separated.
This is a limitation of the Windows operating system.
What version of Visual Studio are you using?
Child windows from Visual Studio are ungroupable as they have a parent (the main VS window), so Groupy should never even attempt to group them and in testing here I could not make it fail. What exactly happens (link to video would be most welcome)?
Do you have some other app running which might alter window positions / styles?
Finally are you using the 2.11 beta version of Groupy as this has some fixes which may well impact your final issue.

Still having tab alignment issues with windows 10 machines using windowblinds.

I hope they understand one day that they shall put this complete desaster of groupy 2 in the rubbish can and bring the groupy 1 back.
Groupy Tabs.
It seems that regardless if I mark ‘Place Tabs Above’ or ‘Integrate…’, it always places the tabs above. I checked the registry at [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Stardock\Groupy\Groupy.ini\Groupy] and “MergeTitlebar” does change from 0 to 1.
Ver 2.11
OS: Win 10, 11, Server 2022 (yes, I know)

That option depends on the window itself. If the app has a custom titlebar then it has to place them above.
What app are you finding this with?

then updating via the software does not work for me. says it has the newest already
after i downloaded object desktop software to get the latest update all the settings i made in groupy 2 were lost.
and with that Object Desktop it can also not be downloaded. shows only "buy" when logged in. it seems i need to refresh my subscription and do that now.
No settings should be lost unless you select the option when uninstalling to remove them.
I think so too, even if upgraded to 2.12
In the Change Log for Groupy2 ver. 2.12 you list:
A tweak for how it handles window peek as it may have been causing the wrong tab to get stuck selected or the entire tab bar to go missing in edge cases
Are you referring to the taskbar thumbnail previews and the issue where the window switches, but the tab gets stuck after clicking on a thumbnail preview?
As shown in this video: https://1drv.ms/v/s!AlPnZU3br_UOh-Fs3EZihLCxYT_CJA?e=qsuRUC
Thanks for your reply,

I would expect that to be resolved yes.

Yes, it is resolved. Thank you so much for this fix! It has been driving me crazy.
Because Betas have always required a manual install.
True.
You are most welcome and thanks for the feedback.
