Google Chrome not skinning correctly

I recently downloaded WindowBlinds 10 for my laptop, and it works perfectly for most apps except chrome. I used the shortcut "C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable-windows10-custom-titlebar for chrome, but the skin looks a bit odd. I will add a photo if I can. How can I fix it to look normal? Thank u if u can help!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Need to know you on Windows 7,8,10 or 11? Also, what is your Windows full version number. Use Winver.exe. And, your Chrome and Windowblinds version number.

As a reference, below is my Chrome on Windows 11 and Windowblinds 11.

Thanks

Thank you! I am using Windows 10 21H2 19044.2965 (that's what it says on my settings), and google chrome Version 115.0.5790.99 (Official Build) (64-bit). I am also using Windblinds 10

Really not sure if Windowblinds 10 still compatible with Current Windows 10 and Current Chrome. But, please try purge and reinstall steps as mention here : [Link]. Just make sure to redownload the latest version from your account page. Reboot after the purge. Reinstall and reboot again after the installation. Retest and report back here.

Thank you,

You would need to report this to Google as they have disabled the setting for it to use native window frames.

Hello,

In my opinion, if we tell Google, they'll say it's not their problem.

They'll tell you to take it up with them.

Google remove support for custom themes from Chromium project.

--disable-windows10-custom-titlebar

And this flag is not work anymore.

Unfortunately it is their choice to remove their support for using the OS frames.

It is outside our control and they are more likely to listen to users than devs as the more reports the more attention paid.  A dev is merely one report.

I tested Chrome, Edge, Brave and only on Edge and Edge beta flags --disable-windows10-custom-titlebar works.

Hello,

Where can I write to them (google)?

The bug only appears on the top banner. The window outline is fine.

This is not a bug. Google remove this flag from chromium project. On Edge works but soon will be remove like in chrome, brave and opera. Google wants to use basic theme or themes from google store.

What does this ultimately mean, exactly?  Is support for theming these browsers gonna be dropped permanently due to this?

Short answer - Yes.

Currently, all Chromium-based browsers do not supports skins. Only Firefox has support but Firefox is crap.

For now only custom Chromium for Win Vista+/11 support --disable-windows10-custom-titlebar flag.
