Fences & Windows Explorer

Screen Recycles

Windows 10 - I have an issue now when I turn on my computer.   When the desktop comes up the screen recycles between normal desktop and grey screen about every 3 seconds.  The only way I've found to fix this is to CTRL+ALT+DEL and disable Windows Explorer (difficult with the screen recycling) and then reboot.  When the desktop comes up again it will be stable, but I get a message that Fences has a problem with Windows Explorer and has turned off.  The only way keep this problem from continuing is to never re-enable Fences.  Has anything like this been reported before or is this just something with my computer?

This just started happening about 3 weeks ago.  It is reproducible, I just re-enable Fences and re-start my computer...but I don't want to do that.  To be clear, my screen is perfectly fine until the "Fenced" desktop comes up...then it starts cycling every 3 seconds...

It could be my computer, I just find it weird that it's fine with Fences disabled.

First, any reason you are not updating your Windows 10 to latest release version? V 22H2? Also, you on Fences version?

Using Fences 4.12

Cannot update to latest version of Windows because of error code 0x800700c1 - tried numerous fixes including buying "Restoro" to know avail...

I believe, Windows should be able to update without any issue. If there is an issue, it shows something is wrong with your Windows system.

Please try the following:

-For Win8/10 Users: Open the Start Screen, and type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator' from below.

-For 7 Users: click Start, in the start search field type 'cmd'. Right-click on the search result and select 'Run as administrator'.

-Type: sfc /scannow

-Wait for the scan to complete (this can take several minutes)

If the SFC finds errors, but cannot fix them, please also run the following command in the same command prompt window:

dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

The above command should assist with replacing any damaged or problematic system files. Please note, however, since it may require restoring certain files, this process can take some time and you will need to be patient until it has completed.
