Windows 11 update fails

Microsoft just pushed out an update to Windows 11 and I an getting a message that the update failed because "Stardock Start10 is required to be the latest version".  I'm not running Start10.  I'm running Start11 and I just verified that it is the latest version 1.44.

What should I do to resolve this?

Thanks.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Never happen to me, but, try uninstall Start11, reboot. Let the Windows 11 update itself fully. Reboot, reinstall Start11, prefer to download the latest Start11 V1.45 Beta. https://forums.stardock.com/518875

Thanks

Hi Basj-

This is mystifying.  I did as you said and uninstalled Start11 and I re-ran windows update.  It still fails with an error message saying Start10 is not the latest version.  I re-checked, and Start11 is definitely uninstalled.  Start10 is not there either.

What now?

Please try the purge part of this "purge and reinstall steps" as mention here : [Link]. Reboot after the purge. Try the Windows 11 update again.

Thank you,

Do you have a dual boot system or a backup of an older install somewhere on your computer?

Microsoft have terrible logic for detecting if something is installed and even if it is on another drive from another OS install it will believe it is installed in the current one despite the fact we block installs anywhere but program files.
