Planetary Defense Question

I was looking at my home world's planetary defense and I am having a hard time understanding what the numbers mean.

  1. what does -33 mean?
  2. How is the number calculated?

The following screen snapshot shows that every component of planetary defense is a positive number adding up to 49, but my plantery defense value is -33.  Could you explain the calculation more clearly?

The text says that the planetary defense number is the amount of damage that the colony can take before being defenseless.  Does a negative number mean that the colony will give up before a single shot is fired?

This looks like a bug.   The issue is that the soldiering ability, if it's negative is changing the sign on that.

I just started a new game under Supernova and I saw something I do not understand about Planetary Defense.  The first screen snapshot shows the status report for my home world and there are 2 identical icons (white shield on green background) with one showing 2300% and the other showing -130.

When I hovered over the one that says 2300% a popup appeared (second screen snapshot) that was titled "Planetary Defense" and had some bland text that did not explain the 2300% value.

When I hovered over the one that says -130 a popup appeared (third screen snapshot) that was also titled "Planetary Defense" and had a lot of detailed information that, mathematically, did not explain the -130 value.

I understand that you have made significant changes to how planetary invasions work (although I haven't gotten far enough to try to invade a planet yet), but you really should put some effort into making the Planetary Defense information understandable for the players. I am a reasonably intelligent person and what you are showing for Planetary Defense makes no sense to me at all.
