Start11 1.43 notification panel still appearing to the left

Hi

Im currently on windows version 22621.1485.

Every since windows updated the taskbar on windows 11, ive had this issue with the notification panel appearing on the left of the screen rather than above the date/time on the right of the screen. This issue has been persistant throught start11 version 1.41, 1.42beta, 1.43beta and it still exists in the full version 1.43. It only occurs when the enhanced taskbar is enabled in the start11 options. I need to use enhanced taskbar to be able to make my taskbar small otherwise this wouldnt be a problem for me.

I have done a fresh install of windows 11 and the problem still exists. I have done a fresh install of start11 and the problem still exists.

When i raised the issue on the 1.42beta forum i was told it wasnt anything to do with start11. When i raised the issue again on the 1.43beta forum i was told it was fixed for the majority of people. At first, when i installed 1.43beta it didnt happen or atleast it felt liek it didnt, but the issue is still there. Hoping it will be fixed.

Do you have any other similar programs installed or have made any registry edits that might affect the taskbar?

Also is this only happening when using a small taskbar?

Ive only got start11 installed, no other programs that affect windows appearance.
Ive also installed a fresh copy of windows 11 to see if that fixed the problem but it did not.
I havent done any regedits since installing windows 11 either.

It only happens when enhanced taskbar is enabled. The only reason i use enhanced taskbar is to make my taskbar size small. I will however set my taskbar size to normal for now with enhanced taskbar enabled to see if the problem continues.

I will update in the next 24hrs or so if i see the problem occur again with taskbar size set to normal.

I havent noticed the issue occur at all yet with the taskbar size set to normal.

I will leave it another 24hrs to see if the issue still doesnt occur.

If it still doesnt occur then i guess its safe to assume the issue only happens with enhanced taskbar and small taskbar enabled only.

Over the past 48hrs, Ive not had any issues with the notification bar appearing anywhere other than where it should. The main difference being that Ive had enhanced taskbar enabled and the taskbar size set to medium the entire time.

The problem appears to only occur when enhanced taskbar is enabled and the taskbar size is set to the small.

Owel, atleast thats party figured out. Hopefully this can be fixed in one of the updates as id prefer my taskbar size to be set to small however ill keep it set to medium for now.

Best Regards...

Does it happen consistently with these settings or is it intermittent?

It happens intermittently. It always happens within a 24hr period of using the PC. Realistically it happens within a couple of hours on the PC. Once it happens, it doesnt undo, except with an explorer restart or a PC restart. I use my PC for browsing and gaming but there is no specific action that i can find that causes the issue.

Hello, I have the same problem (taskbar size is set to small) and for me after restarting Explorer the alignment is correct, then I right-click any open window in the taskbar and after that, the notification center always "remembers" the last position where the right-click menu appeared and appears there. Maybe this will help in mitigating the issue.

I also have this problem, it happens 100% of the time, I use a small task bar. This whole program is quite buggy on Windows 11.

Also, I was unable to sign up to the forum with my normal email address and instead made a temporary account, even your forum software is buggy...

There were no special characters in my email address: "Special characters allowed are hyphen(-), underscore(_) and space( ), but not as the first or last character."

The only positive thing about this situation is the fact I bought the 5x user license via Steam in a different country. I basically paid around $3 total and even that has been a waste.
