Slow bootup w/ Bootskin and LogonStudio?

I doubt it, but recently I've notice that my computer is taking longer to bootup. Screen goes white/black (depending on bootskin's skin background color) after bootskin loads for 5-10 sec. It also loading my "presonal pref..." longer than usual as/after logon loaded.

I've gone into msconfig etc. Did what I could to speed up bootup, but ended with the same result. I'm not sure if it's because of my tweaking or bootskin and logon both running.

Amd Athlon XP 2400+, 128mb Nvidia GeForceFX blah blah, it shouldn't take as long as it should.

If it's because of my tweaking (most likely) what can I do to speed it up to "normal" or faster?

you can use microsoft's bootvis. They made that program to trace how long your system to boot, then it optimizes that time and makes your system boot in 30 seconds or less.

Sadly, they no longer have it for download. If you want it, Email me, I have it and would be happy to share. I use it all the time.

Thanks, I'll try that. Email sent. I don't normally leave my computer on, so I'm one of thsoe that sees the bootscreen and waits for it to load frequently.

There is probably a lot of garbage being loaded at startup, do a Google search for a program called "RegHealer" and use that to clear out all unused entries in the registry and on your hard disk.

Just wondering, if anyone else is getting that 5-10 sec of "black screen" after bootskin loads before the logon loads.

I want to make sure it's just me (again, most likely) or the program itself. I've fixed the logon loading, but bootskin still lags.

"RegHealer", I'll try that.

Yes, I'm getting it. Actually, I've found that it uses whatever color is last in the color table of your boot image as the color for that screen.

Yes, I've your email, but I've also found that there's ALOT of garbage in my registry. And I thought Norton AntiVirus, Spywarebaster, Ad-Ware was enough.
