Multi-monitor operation Fences

Good day,
So Fences is annoying me every day now.
Fences (4.1.0.6) does not remember the Fences window positions.
(Multi-monitor operation with 2 or 3 monitors) the 3rd monitor is occasionally turned on. That's why I no longer have any Fences windows on the 3rd monitor.

In windows (11) the monitor number is always the same.
If Windows remembers the numbers, why not fences?

either the fences of monitor 1 and 2 are swapped after booting, or they are all superimposed on monitor 1.

Securing the fences seems to work, but backing up doesn't do anything.

The language is also often in English, although I have set to system language. My system language is German. Now I've set Fences to German directly, but fences.exe doesn't show me any more dialog windows :-(((((

Also reinstalling the latest fences 4 (4.1.0.6)  shows me
one more configuration window from fences.exe.

I loved fences but I'm starting to hate it.
Please fix the bugs in Muntimonitor operation,
the backup/restore function and the language selection.

Greetings, Manfred

Hello,

Since I couldn't adjust anything anymore, I completely uninstalled and reinstalled fences.
Luckily, I was now able to restore the saved positions, and my Fenjces-serial was also accepted again.
But in the configuration window, fon fences.exe is sometimes displayed in English, sometimes in German.
I can also no longer adjust the pixel spacing of the fences window.
it always stays mostly "0", cannot be operated with the mouse, only works very rarely.
somehow i got it set to 5 after many tries. -
I later found that the number changes, but the window is not updated.
If you close the window and open it again, the correct number is there.

Greetings, Manfred

Hello,
After a long time I connected my 3rd monitor again. (All monitors via HDMI)
This is only added temporarily when I need it.

But only Fences 4.21 shows its old bugs again:
Fences cannot remember which monitor its Fences windows are on. A restore from the snapshot brings nothing.
I've already made sure there are no fence windows on the third monitor.

Only on the 1st monitor and 2nd monitor
As soon as I switch on the 3rd monitor,
the fences windows appear on a different monitor.
(not always)

Can't they include a command that says:
Example:
"Swap Fences Monitor 2 for 3" or
"Swap Fences Monitor 3 for 1"

otherwise I have to move each Fences window individually each time.
And this is very annoying and troublesome.
I've reported this to Stardock several times,
but the problem is not solved :-(

Furthermore: The language problem is still there:
I call
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Fences\Fences.exe" /en-US /FromDesktop
appears, despite the system language, the program appears in English, only after the 2nd or 3rd call does it appear in German.
I have also reported this to Stardock several times,
but the problem is not solved :-(

Greetings, Manfred

@ reply#3: Thanks with Winkey + P is also not a solution for me. Then there is more confusion. - I have already set in the energy settings that the screen never goes off, because when I wake up my fences are no longer on the right monitor. With 2 monitors I only had occasional problems with fences, but with 3 monitors fences is a disaster

So Fences 4.22 doesn't make me happy.
After every update of the NVidia driver software my fences are messed up. (Multi-monitor operation) they are either all displayed on monitor 1, or monitors 1 and 2 are swapped.
Even when I open Fences, Fences often opens in English even though German is set. - I have reported the problems several times, but nothing has changed.
Stardock just can't get the problems solved.
I was already thinking about buying fences 5....
But I also bought Fences 4 and was often annoyed about it,
because the problems that fences often forget the position,
or that language often doesn't work.
I don't see the point of spending money on fences 5 again.
And if Fences 5 also has the same problems?

Greetings Manfred

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. If you review this Fences 5.5 Beta release https://forums.stardock.com/527284 . There are improvement done solely on Multi-monitor issues. Might need to wait some time for the Beta to be on release version. Only than you can do a 30 days trial and see if your issue resolve with this version.

Thank you.

Hello Basj,

OK, then I will try this beta. I once installed the Fences 5.04 trial.
After an Nvidia update I also have the problem
that all fences of monitor 1 and monitor 2 are on top of each other after the update to monitor 1.
There it works at least to restore it with the snapshot. Fences 5 also shows me the fences menu in the system language German
(which doesn't always work with fences 4.22 either)

I bought Fences 2 in 2015,
2018 Fences 3 Upgrade/5User, and
2021 Fences 4 Upgrade/5User,

But I don't see why I should buy Fences 5 because fences 4 has problems and Stardock cannot
fix the problems in fences 4 in multi-monitor mode.
Then I expect a free upgrade key from Stardock.

Greetings, Manfred

All of our products evolve as Windows itself does.  Keeping pace with Microsoft, user feature requests, and general QOL improvements to our software is something we feel we are justified in charging a nominal fee for.

If clients feel that they have a working solution in a prior version of any of our products, we understand if they want to skip an upgrade.  It is our job to keep updating our products until they feel a version is compelling enough to upgrade to.

I don't really see that.

I have to point out that the errors in multi-monitor operation with fences 4.xx were never solved
and that I have had these problems since I bought Fences 4.xx in 2022.
-

So at a time when Fences 4.xx matched the Windows 11 version at the time. -
I opened a ticket about it several times,
but it was never resolved satisfactorily.

I am sorry to hear that, Manfred, but not all clients did have issues.

If you change you mind and do decided to upgrade to Fences 5 and find any issues, please let us know and we will work with you on them.
