How to remove a dead item from the taskbar?

Hi,

I'm using Start 11 on Windows 11.
I was playing around and trying to pin a .bat file to the taskbar and ended up with the dead icon, which I cannot remove.
It looks like this - https://imgur.com/dWZeW9n
When I click on it, nothing happens, right-click does nothing.
It's also not in this folder C:\Users\...\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar\
So my question is how to remove that icon from the taksbar?

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Have you tried, restart explorer.exe or rebooting the system?

Thanks

Yes, several times, it did not help. Maybe you could tell where the order of the task bar items is stored? I could check if something is there as I can move that item around.

I am not sure where those are located. However, I have forwarded your problem/question to Stardock Support Team for their assistance. Please keep an eye on this thread for any updates. We appreciate your feedback and patience.

Solution, which worked for me:
- Uninstall Start11 (not delete the settings)
- Unpin the icon (the right click and unpin was working for the icon from the Standard Windows 11 taskbar)
- Install Start11.
