So now Start11 and WindowBlinds11 both always say they need to be updated, and I get notifications that I need to update somthing in StarDock.  So I really don't know if I need to update or not.  This is not acceptable.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. This is known issue for user that have ObjectDesktop manager loaded on Startup. What you can do is to temporary turn off auto update check on ObjectDesktop Manager.

Then, I still won't know what to update.  Should I just not update any of the programs that are part of the Stardock package?    That doesn't seem to be a good solution.

Well, your can turn the update check back on when the issue is resolved. And, I believe only few Stardock Software product are currently active in development. Namely Start11 and Windowblinds. Also these applications has its own auto update check button. Which should inform you if there is update available.
