"Lock Taskbar" does not lock taskbar

Running Start11 1.36 on Windows 11 Enterprise.

Using Centered icons, with buttons combined "sometimes."

I can rightclick on the taskbar and choose "lock taskbars" and it will remain checked.

However, this still lets me drag icons on the taskbar around all I want. In other words, the taskbar is not locked.

Is there any fix for this?

Thanks!

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Can we have your Windows 11 full version number? Use Windows "Winver.exe" to get that number.

Thanks

Lock taskbar works the same as lock taskbar on Windows 10.

That is it locks the size of the taskbar so you cannot resize the number of rows it is using.  It will not stop you dragging things around the taskbar.

LOCKING THE TASKBAR: Locking the taskbar prevents resizing the taskbar and changing its location.

WHAT DOESN’T CHANGE AFTER LOCKING THE TASKBAR: Locking the taskbar doesn’t impact icons on the taskbar. You can still rearrange the system and apps icons shown on the taskbar. You can even change the position of the pinned items. Lastly, you can even unpin the app icons.

This has been the case for many years on the Windows OS.

Thanks for the replies.

Windows 11 Enterprise 22H2, build 22621.963

It might be that I have the wrong expectations - thanks for clarifying that. I coulda sworn that "lock the taskbar" meant not being able to move icons around on the taskbar. Maybe it's just that I "thought" that so hard that I never tried.
