Still only supports 1 monitor for the taskbar and if it did have multi taskbar support, it would need per screen taskbar buttons. Unfortunately the last version I have of it does not do so.
Fortunately the latest beta adds per monitor taskbars and (also optional, of course) per-monitor task buttons, including on docks, etc. So problem solved.
What's next after v22.7
I read up on the forums they have no interest in adding acrylic or mica blur effects to the application. An yes the program is dated, grid stack/subdocks has nothing to do with how the program feels/looks. It defiantly feels from the xp era.
Saying a skinnable application - where even the UI has light and dark modes, unlike so many other applications out there - feels from the XP era is kind of an oxymoron, no?
Also, Nexus Ultimate and the WorkShelf portion of Winstep Xtreme is fully compatible with skins for ObjectDock (including the tabbed docks). You have plenty to choose from - and in terms of sheer functionality, Winstep applications are unbeatable (assuming you actually care more about functionality than looks).
Nextstart/dock does not have an intuitive way to make themes, its all text based. A program like skin studio for it would be needed if I were to use it. I dont want to have to mess with various text files and code just to get it working right.
Well, so did RocketDock, ObjectDock, etc...
Skin setting used to be in the UI until they were removed some years ago to help unclutter the whole thing, since only a very small minority of users are skinners. The plan was to move them to a stand alone application (Winstep Theme Builder) which already exists but currently only allows you to create skins docks, and not much else.
Still, if there is renewed interest on it I could be convinced to finish the damn thing lol
