Domain Logon Skinning for XP Pro users

From Stardock FAQ:

"I’m on a domain network, and LogonStudio doesn’t work . . .

Since the list of users is not held locally in this situation, Microsoft did not enable the Welcome screen, so unfortunately you can’t use LogonStudio to change it."

Is there anything in the works for domain users and skinning for the logon? I'm not talking about welcome screen skinning. I've searched the forums and can only seem to find LogonStudio threads. If someone has already addressed this issue, please post a link. Thanks!

The Welcome screen is the logon screen for those not on a domain. Can't skin what isn't there when one is on a domain.

Right, I'm not talking about the welcome screen. The Domain logon itself has the windows xp style "skin" by default. I'm wondering if this can be skinned to go along with the rest of the skinnable items in xp instead of having that ugly blue everywhere when i login.

Are you talking about the screen background or the actual logon box? I'm on a domain at work and all I have is a black screen with a small logon panel in the middle. It's not even in the Luna style that I recall.

I haven't heard of anyone or anything skinning the domain logon. Otherwise people here would be discussing it and using it if there was. And being on a domain, one has limited control of what one can do in some areas of the PC when the set up is determined by the sys admin.

Well, I have seen articles on the forums that help you change the background (mine is blue, yours is black). So that's not some much a concern. It's the actual logon box in the middle where you enter your user name and password.

I agree that people would be discussing it if it was already skinnalbe, my question now I guess would be if it will be skinnable in the future?

Not to beat a dead horse, but my question was never really answered. So, I'll try one last time and let it go forever

My question pertains to the Windows XP domain longon box, you are asked to hit ctrl-alt-del the it prompts you for user name and password. This box has the default XP Style Blue that we're all so fond of

Can this be skinned? If not, will it be considered in future releases of WB? Is it part of shellstyles? Obviously I don't know the technical aspect of all of this, but I greatly appreciate skinning and the efforts put forth by this community. Please let me know if this is possible. Thanks!

I honestly don't know what can or cannot be done with the logon box. I suspect others don't either or you would have had a response by now.

To get an expert opinion you should email Stardock support and ask them if it is at all possible for the domain logon box to be skinned. (I'm figuring if it can be skinned at all Stardock would know.)

That's true, I'll go that route. Maybe it's because WB is not loaded until you've already logged in. Therefore you'd have to make WB skin things before login, or write a separate proggie for that purpose... just a guess

Thanks for your input sig!

Hmm, just in theory it may be possible the same way they skin the bootscreen now by a driver that is loaded with windows. I also would like to have the domain logon skinned.

That's interesting, I went ahead and emailed Stardock concerning this question. Now I just need to wait and see what they say.
