ObjectDesktop Manager Update Bug

Start10 v1.97

I wasn't sure which form to post this but because it involves Start10, which I am using, I decided to post it here. The situation is that at least once a week, and sometimes several times a week I get a notification down in my taskbar that ObjectDesktop has new updates for me. Every time I go to check it out, the update is for Start10, but it's always the same version 1.97, which it downloads and installs and tells me I must reboot to complete the update. This has been going on for months. It hasn't cost me any problems, but it sure sounds buggy as hell. Anyone have any insights as to why this might be happening? Oh and I'm using Windows 10 Version 21H2 (OSBuild19044.2130).

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Since you on ODM, I believe you have an active subscription? If you do, why not install Start11? Which is a better support for current Windows 10 version. Start10 development has stop once Start11 release. And Start11 is fully compatible with Windows 10.

Thanks

I wasn't sure how well Start11 would work with Windows 10, which was why I have been reluctant to try it until now. Would I have to uninstall Start10 first before installing Start11?

I been using Start11 on my Windows 10 system for sometime now and it has no issue on my system. I am running latest Start11 V1.31 now. For installation, for the best result, uninstall Start10, reboot immediately after. Install latest Start11, reboot again.

For backing up old setting you can refer to this guide: https://forums.stardock.com/505872/start11-support-faq#backUpSettings

Thanks for the reply, Basj. I'm giving Start11 a shot right now. I did as you suggested and it seems to be working fine. It may take a little while for me to get used to it as there as some slight differences between Start10 and Start11, but so far so good.
