Taskbar doesn't refresh when I alternate between desktops

Hello.

Everytime I change the desktop, I have to CLICK somewhere to the taskbar refresh. This is VERY ANNOYING and time consuming. Please, how do I fix this problem?

I have used start8 and thereafter start10 and never had any problem. Recently I bought a new notebook with Win11 and bought the start11 and this problem start happening...

I attached a video to show what's happening:

I have already tried to turn on and off animations of taskbar, but the problem persist

Please, help me.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. But, I can't reproduce your issue on my system. Need more information.

  1. Windows 11 full version number. Please use Winver.exe to get it.
  2. Start 11 version installed.
  3. Monitor resolution and scaling factors. (100%, 125% etc)

Thanks

Thank you for your reply.

Winver.exe = 22H2 version 22621.608

Resolution 1920X1080p 60hz scale 125%... The problem persists if I use an external monitor or a TV with other resolutions.

Start 11 version 1.25 (there's no option to update to 1.28 beta via Steam)

Is this Windows insider build? If yes, do know that Stardock do not support any Windows Insider/Beta build.

As for V1.28 beta currently only available for those who purchase directly from Stardock. It should be available on Steam when it come out from beta.

Thank you,

No, it's not an insider build. It was an automatic update via windows update that happened last week... But before that, with 21H2, I had this problem also.

I've tried to enable and disable many of the visual effects of win11, but none of them have any impact on this problem

Maybe you can reproduce this problem by doing the following: open any folder, then minimize it, then alternate between desktops... This pattern makes the problem appear here 100% of the time! I have to CLICK somewhere after minimizing a folder (or a browser, or anything), otherwise the taskbar problem happens.

Thank you

Does 'if' actually mean 'only if'?

I ask as we (3 of us) can't reproduce it with traditional monitors.  This is me switching (Ctrl + Winkey + Left\Right arrow key) between virtual desktops:

Have you tried changing the refresh rate of the TV monitor?

Thank you for your reply.

It happens in any case, if I only use the notebook (1080p 60hz) or if I plug it into an external monitor (1080p 60hz) or into a 4k 120hz TV... The problem keeps happening even if I change the refresh rate.

The problem happens when I minimize a window (or close it) and then alternate between desktops with (Ctrl + Winkey + Left\Right arrow key)

I made another video to try to show this problem better:

You can see that if I switch between desktops with both Paint windows active, the taskbar refreshes normally, but if I minimize one window and then alternate desktops, the taskbar doesn't refresh unless I click on something...

Unless I am doing something wrong here, I still can't reproduce the issue:

Try to open the Paint in the other desktop, then minimize (or close it) and then alternate desktop.

I believe you couldn't reproduce because the Microsoft EDGE window was active... If you open paint or any folder on the other desktop, close it or minimize it and then alternate between desktop, the problem should occur.

Fairly niche but I was able to reproduce it finally:

I will log it.
