Start 11 becomes unresponsive during long file transfers

When doing extended file transfers (Large files that take an extended time to complete) the taskbar becomes unresponsive and the Start Menu will not come up when the keyboard start button is pressed. This has been going on for a while (Multiple versions of Start 11). Doing the Purge and reinstall fixes it temporarily, but it comes back after a few days.

Windows 11 21H2

Start 11 v1.25

Processor AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
RAM 64.0 GB

Have you tested this without Start11 installed?  If not, could you do so and let us know the results?

Yes, it works fine without Start11 if you search the forums you'll see that a lot of people have this problem, the advice generally given is uninstall, purge, and reinstall, but as I said, that is only a temporary fix. I'm not sure if it's related to the size of the files, or the number of files, in my case I transfer large numbers of large files (Video editor, so lots and lots of multi GB files moved from location to location, betwen local, network, and external drives)

I have not seen ' a lot' of such reports but I am not saying it's not a concern.

The only thing that comes to mind is that for such transfers, Windows Explore (which Start11 has hooks into) becomes unresponsive. When this happens, and you check task manager, is that the case, that WinExp shows 'unresponsive'?

Don't really have time to search out the other posts I've seen but here's another person that has experienced it https://forums.stardock.com/513139/issues-with-unresponsive-taskbar-whilst-file-transfers-are-happening the purge/reinstall seems to have fixed it for him. It may be that it only happens with large amounts/size files are transferred,

Neil reminded me that this was addressed in the 1.27 Beta currently available:
