my desktop icons are stuck (Fences issue)

Hello It seems my desktop icons are stuck how do I fix it? (yes I uninstalled fences that just made it worse) (I am on windows 11 but windows 10 skined) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_fI3OJTKRSs

Hello,

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

Still confused about your issue , is Fences installed ?

If so right click on your desktop on your desktop to View 

scroll down to Lock Fences and if it's checked un check it .

Then you can move stuff around .

I just upgraded to the version the "About" function calls version 4.0.7.2 but which has a file version of 4.7.2.0 (somebody goofed here!).

The Fences / Portals can no longer be moved. The View option, referred to by AzDude shows that Fences is NOT locked.

Can you show a screenshot of what you seeing that shows 4.7.2.0

i don't see it .

Update: I only had this problem on Windows 11 - On Windows 10 the update to the latest version of fences worked fine and Fences is working as expected.

Update2: On Windows 11, I uninstalled and then re-installed the latest the latest version of Fences and it is now working as it should i.e. Fences / Portals can be moved as before.

Are you using WinGet to update or no?  If not, the installer version is irrelevant but it will be addressed in the next update.
