Why no upgrade from 3 to 4

On steam why no upgrade from fences 3 to fences 4???

Minor updates, i.e. 3.0 to 3.9 (hypothetical)...i.e. an update, would not require purchasing a new license. Major version change i.e. 3 to 4, requires the purchase of a new license.

To be fair, this not only Stardock's policy, and Stardock has always had this policy. The salaries of the devs who improve the software and make it compatible with currently supported MS operating systems and drivers, etc. have to be paid.

I can understand how you might want free updates forever, but realistically no software developer does that.

lol every software once a new version comes out you have to buy it again.. when u buy an antivirus software do they give u a lifetime license? no you pay by the year.. same thing goes here... or when they come out with a game version 2022 you buy it but when version 2023 comes out do they give you a free update to the new version? no, you have to buy it again by the year.. lol dont understand people that think they buy something once and it will be updated for free for the rest of their lives lol

maybe true what you say but i bought internet download manager and i get all updates for free and lifetime

Stardock's policy regarding updates/upgrades isn't a secret. It is public knowledge if you care to look it up:

https://www.stardock.com/support/maintenance

Whether or not another software developer chooses to give forever free updates doesn't obligate Stardock to do so.

I also wouldn't compare the sophistication of an internet software downloader to that of Fences 4.

ok no more complains from me but why not release fences 4 on steam then? i can easy list it to my wishlist for promotion i'm a poor guy and i'm sorry for it OK!!!
