some fences not showing on screen win11

So I've got 2 missing fences and i cant restore snapshot as they disappeared during a major design/layout change. Idisabled hidden popup transparency and multi desktop fences are still missing from screen though settings says they still exist. Is there a way to reposition them as I believe they were pushed off the viewable screen.

Hello,
Sorry to hear you are having issues. Have you check you other Fences desktop page? You can try navigate Fences desktop page or disable Fences Desktop page to see if it return.

But in my case, the missing icons might don't show in File Explorer, Desktop

But do show in the snapshot I restore.

A. if something deleted the shortcuts, I don't supposed restoring a Fence snapshot would help?

B. how can i delete some old snapshots? I have some going back 4 years

Sorry to hear you are having issues.

  • If it already physically don't show up in your Desktop folder. Than, you can not restore it via Fences Layout snapshot. This might happen if you have enable Onedrive Desktop Sync. Once OneDrive Desktop Sync turn on, it will move your Desktop icons to onedrive folder. What you can do, turn off Onedrive Desktop Sync and move back all those shortcut icons to desktop folder.
  • Yes, you can delete off snapshots. Click on which ever Snapshot you wish to delete than click the delete snapshot button. Refer to screenshot below.

Thank you for pointing out that about OneDrive storing Desktop. I went to office.com, OD, recycle bin, and found a bunch of desktop icons all deleted one day ago. Restored them, restored Fences snapshot that showed all of them, and i'm good now.  No idea why the icons got deleted.

Re deleting, i see what you're describing now.  But I have  a lot to manually delete. Any way to make it easy to just keep say last 15?
